For nearly 25 years Back2Back Ministries staff, partners, and advocates have been witness to the life change that is possible when someone chooses to be the difference in the life of another.
Around the world we’re establishing footholds of deep, holistic care for orphaned and vulnerable children and families. Our goal isn’t a temporary fix or short-term relief; we’re committed to helping eradicate all forms of generational poverty – spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social.
No person, community, organization, or government can end the orphan crisis by themselves, but we can do it together. It’s an overwhelming, exhilarating, and humbling call. The Be the Difference Podcast exists because we believe those who choose to lean in, to take a step, to be the difference, have a story worth telling.
We won’t stop until every child is known and loved.
Sammy Mathews has been on staff with Back2Back Ministries for almost 10 years. During her time with Back2Back, Sammy served for seven years in Monterrey, Mexico, and for the last two and half years has served in the US Corporate office as the assistant to the Executive Director. While serving in Mexico, Sammy conducted Trauma Competent Care training, served as a full time caregiver in a children’s home, and led hundreds of mission teams. This experience is her motivation to teach, learn, and share stories of others being the difference around the world.
Chris Cox has been serving with Back2Back Ministries for 13 years. In 2018, Back2Back opened an eighth site focusing on vulnerable children, youth, and families in Cincinnati, where Chris serves as the director. Prior to launching this site, Chris served as director of One21 in an effort to resource emerging generations. The pursuit of equality and unity for all people drives Chris. He continues to train, speak, and lead in multiple platforms both locally and nationally.
